SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER | 2019 - 2023

At Rattan Direct, I had the chance to take the brand’s visual identity and give it a fresh new look while also working on website improvements and a variety of marketing materials. I got to explore email marketing in depth, creating campaigns that drove real results, including 22% of the company’s website revenue and over 400% year-on-year growth, with automated campaigns contributing 23% of email revenue. One highlight was building a high-value Buyers’ Guide page using Zmags, which was later featured in their Best Website Use Cases Webinar.

This role really reinforced my love for combining creativity with strategy and showed me just how much thoughtful design and marketing can influence real business outcomes.

Email Marketing

Alongside my role as a graphic designer, I took on the role of email marketing lead. I researched, planned, designed and built both ad-hoc and automated campaigns. I continuously found creative ways to engage our audience. My campaigns made a real impact, contributing 22% of the company’s website revenue, while boosting open rates from 9% to 47–58% and click-through rates from 0.4% to 2.9%.

It was a rewarding challenge to combine design with strategy and below you can explore some of the emails I created and brought to life.

Web Design

Using Zmags, I designed and built a variety of dynamic web pages and content blocks to boost engagement and interaction on the site. One highlight was a Buyers’ Guide page, which was featured in Zmags’ Best Website Use Cases Webinar and went on to achieve one of the highest page values on the entire website.

Beyond Zmags, I worked on a wide range of web design projects, including designing icons, banners, wireframes, and other interface elements. I also contributed to the site’s overall redesign, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all pages while improving usability and user experience. This work allowed me to combine creativity with functionality, making sure every element was visually engaging and easy to navigate.

Campaigns

Each month, I worked on a new promotional campaign, bringing fresh offers and messaging to life across multiple platforms. The campaign themes were applied across a variety of channels, including the homepage, landing pages, thumbnails, mobile elements, affiliate banners, emails, and social media posts.

This work allowed me to think strategically about how a single concept could be adapted for different formats while keeping it visually engaging and on-brand. It was a great opportunity to combine creativity with consistency, ensuring each campaign had impact no matter where it appeared.

Lifestyle Furniture

Lifestyle Furniture is the sister brand of Rattan Direct, but it has a very different style and audience. While Rattan Direct focuses on classic, timeless designs, Lifestyle Furniture leans into a more contemporary, trend-led aesthetic aimed at a younger demographic. Working across both brands has allowed me to adapt my design approach to suit different tones, audiences, and visual identities, ensuring each brand’s personality comes through while maintaining a high standard of creativity and consistency.
