BETTER BATHROOMS
GRAPHIC DESIGNER | 2014 - 2019
At Better Bathrooms, I worked in a flexible design role that saw me both leading projects as the sole designer and collaborating within a team of designers as the team evolved. This gave me the opportunity to take full ownership of creative projects when needed, while also contributing ideas and supporting colleagues in a collaborative environment.
I worked on a wide range of assets for both print and digital platforms. This included catalogues, web elements, in-store POS, signage, email visuals, and press advertising. Managing the full creative process meant coordinating with external agencies and printers to make sure everything ran smoothly. I also collaborated closely with teams across the business, from E-commerce and Digital Marketing to UX, Purchasing, and HR, ensuring that every piece of work was aligned, effective, and had real impact. It was a role that allowed me to combine creativity with organisation, delivering work that looked great and supported the business across multiple channels.
I worked on a wide variety of print projects, including press advertisements, catalogues and brochures, flyers, in-store POS, promotional inserts, stationery, uniforms, and vehicle graphics. The role gave me hands-on experience across the entire creative process, from initial concept to final production, while collaborating closely with external agencies and teams across Better Bathrooms to ensure every piece was polished and effective.
Social
In my social media design work, I created stickers, posts, frames, and competition assets to engage audiences across multiple platforms. The role gave me space to experiment with playful, eye-catching visuals while ensuring everything stayed true to the brand’s identity. It was also a great opportunity to see how creative social content can drive engagement and strengthen the connection between a brand and its audience.
Online Campaigns
In my web and digital work, I designed a variety of assets, including promotional banners, website graphics, icons, logos, and email campaigns. The role allowed me to balance creativity with functionality, making sure each element looked appealing while supporting the user experience and overall brand goals. It also highlighted how thoughtful design choices can influence the way people engage with a brand online, shaping perception and interaction in meaningful ways.
Internal
I designed posters for staff events and charity initiatives, as well as interactive newsletters to keep teams engaged and informed. It was a great opportunity to combine creativity with communication, making sure each piece not only looked appealing but also encouraged participation and connection. I enjoyed seeing how thoughtful design could bring events to life and foster a sense of community.
Image Editing
Back in the days before AI was a thing, I retouched images by hand in Photoshop. This included adding or removing items, adjusting product colours, editing scenery, and enhancing lighting and exposure. This role taught me the importance of subtle changes in shaping the way a product or scene is perceived, and how careful attention to detail can make a big impact on the overall look and feel of a brand’s visuals.
